About the Role
As an Experienced Pathology Transcriptionist III, you will play a critical role in supporting the pathologists, pathologists' assistants, and pathology department by performing accurate transcription of recorded medical dictation into designated report format. You will also be responsible for performing assigned activities related to the department, including inventory control, general equipment and space maintenance, receptionist/clerical tasks, and supporting cross-departmental partnerships and communication.
Key Responsibilities
* Performs accurate transcription of recorded medical dictation into designated report format, as needed to support Pathologists, Pathologists' Assistants and selected individual laboratory departments
- Performs assigned activities related to the department including inventory control, general equipment and space maintenance, receptionist/clerical tasks which may include general word processing (typing), filing, distribution of interoffice memos, mail, scanning, and faxing
- Supports cross departmental partnerships and communication amongst Pathologists, Pathologists' Assistants, hospital staff and clients taking immediate steps to correct, follow through and report any mistakes or errors to department manager
- Provides resolution to customer service issues within guidelines
- Attends and participates in scheduled department and committee meetings as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Five years of experience in medical dictation transcription
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with Clinical and Anatomical Laboratory Processes Preferred
- Completion of two-year transcription program with certificate Preferred

Schedule and Location
* Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Remote work opportunity with occasional on-site meetings
