Under general supervision, operates the central laboratory storeroom of the Chicago Laboratory. Duties include, but are not limited to, receiving, storing, and distributing laboratory and office supplies, transporting mail from the post office and performing routine clerical record keeping duties.Benefits StatementAs a State of Illinois Employee, you will receive a robust benefit package that includes the following:

- Maintains stores inventory, receives, records, and prepares orders for replacement of stock when authorized. Transports and sorts first class mail from the Post Office, including certified mail, and delivers to appropriate destination.
- Received, unpacks, and checks all incoming supplies for prescribed specification and damages and stores such in properly designated area.
- Issues supplies from stockroom upon written or oral requests.
- Prepares and ships laboratory supplies to other regional laboratories via FedEx, United Parcel Service and Parcel Post as required.
- Operates materials handling equipment activities.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years high school.
- Requires one (1) year experience in the keeping of stores and stores records.
