Job Description

As a Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant, you will be at the forefront of our operations, directly interacting with passengers and ensuring a memorable travel experience. This role involves significant responsibility, from safety demonstrations to customer service. The unique work schedule includes multiple flights per day and potentially several layovers per month in various cities.

Responsibilities

– Conduct pre-flight safety checks and ensure the cabin is equipped.

– Demonstrated ability to perform safety demonstrations and follow security procedures.

– Provide friendly and professional customer service to enhance passenger experience.

– Assisting passengers with special needs, including children, the elderly, or those with disabilities.

– Offering refreshments and meals and selling merchandise during the flight.

– Managing conflicts or distress situations with calmness and professionalism.

– Promoting the airline’s frequent flyer program.

– Ensuring adherence to all federal, airline, and airport regulations.

Requirements

– Minimum age of 21 years.

– High school diploma or GED. Higher education is an asset.

– Ability to pass a rigorous background check and drug screening.

– Ability to reach overhead bins and lift bags weighing up to 50 lbs.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

– Must be adaptable to varying work hours and layover schedules.

– Fluency in English; bilingual or multilingual is a plus.

Educational Qualifications

– High School Diploma or GED required.

– Further certification in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, or related field preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

– Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or airline operations is beneficial but not required.
