[Remote] Account Manager - Northeast Area Sales/New Business Development

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Account Manager will be responsible for outside sales and new business development, maintaining existing accounts, and creating value propositions to enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates with existing customers and manages accounts to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintains existing business by developing and presenting value propositions to existing customers
  • Partners with colleagues in functional areas, including, but not limited to, Production, Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, and Logistics, in order to provide the best customer service possible
  • Interacts with and assists sales managers and/or directors to achieve sales goals
  • Creates detailed price quotes
  • Creates and delivers presentations to internal and external customers, along with samples and prototypes
  • Completes and updates sales-related paperwork and reporting systems
  • Maintains relationships with plants that service customers in the assigned territory, product area, or accounts
  • May solicit requests for quotes
  • May execute re-pricing action for underperforming accounts when necessary
  • May interface with plants to determine lost and new customer opportunities (e.g., customer segment, value propositions)
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Typically possesses a Bachelor's degree and 8 plus years of experience
  • A true Road Warrior—comfortable with frequent local and overnight travel to engage clients in the assigned northeast territories
  • A hunter mindset—proactive in seeking out and securing new business
  • Proven track record of success in business development or sales
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results
  • Possesses solid sales experience; industrial packaging sales experience is a plus
  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills
  • Possesses excellent time management and planning skills
  • Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform cold customer calls and follow up on leads
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Local and overnight travel will be required
  • Industrial packaging experience is a plus
