[Remote] Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical - Remote

Plan B Climatech is a leading multi-discipline building systems consultancy specializing in Mission Critical, Science & Technology, and Industrial sectors. They are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to take on a technical leadership role in hyperscale and mission critical data center programmes, focusing on electrical design and interdisciplinary coordination.
Responsibilities
- Leading electrical design from basis of design through construction documents and construction administration
- Developing power system architecture — single-line diagrams, load summaries, MV/LV distribution, equipment schedules
- Designing and coordinating utility services, transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, PDUs, grounding, and lighting systems
- Directing short circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash studies
- Driving interdisciplinary coordination across mechanical, controls, FP, structural, and BIM/VDC teams
- Leading QA/QC reviews and ensuring consistent, code-compliant deliverable quality across programmes
- Supporting client and contractor engagement — design reviews, RFIs, submittals, and field issue resolution
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to repeatable design standards
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 8+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience with a strong mission critical / data center focus
- Solid knowledge of NEC / NFPA 70 and electrical safety principles
- Experience designing MV/LV power distribution and mission critical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, transfer schemes)
- Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD; comfortable in BIM/VDC workflows
- Strong communicator, able to lead technical discussions with clients, utilities, and contractors
- Hyperscale data center experience strongly preferred
- PE licence (or actively working toward one)
- Familiarity with TIA-942 and data centre resiliency/tier concepts
- Experience with power system analysis tools (SKM, ETAP, EasyPower or similar)
- Fast-track, design-assist, and complex energisation/phasing experience
- Commissioning coordination background
