[Remote] Senior Piping Designer

Remote role Full-time Open position

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mesa Applied Technologies is seeking an experienced piping designer for upstream and midstream oil & gas projects. The role involves preparing 3D models, developing isometric drawings, and serving as the project design lead on small to medium-sized projects while mentoring less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of 3D modeling of equipment and piping systems
  • Development of isometric drawings from the 3D model and equipment location drawings and detailed piping design
  • Routinely performs design, layout, and interdisciplinary coordination in the production process of the documents
  • Will serve as the project design lead on small to medium sized projects and tasks
  • Starting to demonstrate technical advancement and/or specialization
  • May have some involvement with proposals and construction estimates
  • Provides a role in mentoring less experienced staff
  • Utilize AutoCAD & CADWorx to design engineering projects
  • Generate process, mechanical and piping deliverables, taking directions from all disciplines
  • Responsible for generating designs to meet exact technical standards
  • Produces and manages CAD documents and models for a project using an expert working knowledge of the CAD software

Skills

  • Minimum of Ten (10) years of experience in piping design for upstream and midstream oil & gas projects
  • Ability to work independently and remote
  • Experience in industrial piping design and proficiency using 3D design software
  • Proficient with AutoCAD 2023
  • Proficient with CADWorx Plant & P&ID Professional 2023
  • ISOGEN proficiency
  • Working knowledge of CADWorx Structural 2023
  • Working knowledge of CADWorx Equipment 2023
  • Working knowledge of CADWorx Specifications 2023
  • Working knowledge of Navisworks Simulate or Manage 2023
  • Background in the development of Oil and Gas piping systems
  • Basic knowledge of the selection of materials for corrosion resistance or decontamination
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design teams
