[Remote] Business Analyst (W2 Contract only/ No 3rd Parties)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CBTS is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a large-scale child welfare technology environment. The ideal candidate will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are effectively translated into system requirements and technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of agency mission, vision, goals, user groups, business processes, workflows, and supporting systems
• Analyze business operations and identify opportunities for process improvements and technology-driven solutions
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements
• Create and maintain business analysis artifacts including: Business requirements documents (BRDs), Functional requirements, User stories, Wireframes and conceptual designs, Process workflows, Traceability matrices, Test plans and testing documentation
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate daily with software development, quality assurance, systems support, and project management teams
• Participate in project planning, resource planning, issue management, and status reporting
• Facilitate meetings with customers, stakeholders, and management to provide project updates and gather feedback
• Ensure business and user needs are met through timely and accurate delivery of solutions
• Support system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and quality assurance activities
• Assist in developing technical standards, procedures, policies, and best practices
• Work with project managers to ensure compliance with project schedules, governance standards, and implementation methodologies
• Contribute to strategic planning, process improvement initiatives, and client relationship management

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong experience as a Business Analyst within enterprise application environments
• Expertise in business analysis methodologies and documentation standards
• Experience creating: Wireframes, Functional and non-functional requirements, User stories, Business process workflows, Traceability matrices, Testing documentation
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments
• Knowledge of IT governance frameworks, project implementation methodologies, and business process improvement practices
• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and large project organizations
