[Remote] Platform Engineering Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Granted is a seed-stage company focused on simplifying the US healthcare system through innovative technology. They are seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for building and maintaining the platform and infrastructure that connects various healthcare systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Own execution end-to-end — sprint planning, retros, delivery tracking, and a clear narrative of what the team committed to, delivered, and learned
- Set direction across two domains: AI-driven data integrations with external systems, and the platform/infrastructure layer that keeps Granted fast, secure, and reliable
- Drive prioritization — translate business needs into an engineering roadmap, protect the team’s focus, and make trade-off calls with stakeholders
- Build the team’s capacity — structured growth conversations, stretch assignments, and delegation that lets the pod run well when you’re not in the room
- Surface problems before they’re discovered — maintain a living tracker of commitments tied to business goals; flag risks with a recommendation, not just an alert
- Ship code — stay close to the work across backend systems, orchestration layers, and infrastructure, contributing where you’re most needed
Skills
- 6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience, with depth in distributed systems, data pipelines, or cloud infrastructure
- 2+ years of technical leadership experience (engineering management strongly preferred; tech lead considered for exceptional candidates)
- Startup veteran — you've worked at a Series B or earlier company; zero-to-one experience is a strong plus
- Business-informed prioritization instincts — you connect engineering decisions to company strategy, not just technical elegance
- Willingness to contribute as an IC during onboarding
- Experience building integrations with complex systems
- Background in infrastructure or platform engineering: CI/CD, observability, security/compliance (HIPAA, SOC2)
- Experience with AI/LLM-powered automation in production
- Background in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated industries
Benefits
- Offers Equity
- Engineering and CX are remote-first
- Other teams work hybrid from our NYC office (in-office Monday–Thursday, Fridays from home)
