HOMELESSNESS STRATEGY COORDINATOR 2026-03014
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Note: All City of Fayetteville positions require the employee to provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team) and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. Other essential duties of this position include the following:1. Serve as the City’s primary contact and coordinator on homelessness issues and strategic initiatives, liaising with internal departments, external partners, and residents.2. Assist with the implementation of special projects to end homelessness and coordinate with other department members on efforts to prevent homelessness.3. Prepare and interpret information related to data on sheltered and unsheltered homelessness and assist supervisor with the development of related policy and program recommendations.4. Represent the City in meetings about homelessness with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, members of the public, staff from partner organizations, state and federal officials, and residents with lived experience of homelessness.5. Drive the day-to-day implementation of the City of Fayetteville’s extreme weather response plan, including coordination of community service organizations, volunteer and partnership recruitment, and activation communications.6. Support grant pursuits, fundraising, and other efforts to diversify sources of funding for the City’s homelessness response and prevention initiatives.7. As assigned, serve on boards and committees related to the local and regional response to homelessness. Participate in and support regional data collection and analysis and integrate City efforts with broader regional homelessness strategies.8. Monitor local, state, and federal actions affecting homelessness and advise supervisor and senior leadership on data-informed best practices for local homelessness response.9. Perform other duties as assigned.
