Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing information and assistance to individuals, families, small group employees, and brokers seeking information, enrollment assistance, and other services related to the MHC. You will utilize the State's eligibility and enrollment portal and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and other State systems to perform all tasks and duties for HIX customers. Your primary goal will be to deliver high-quality service to all Maryland consumers, ensuring that they receive the support they need to navigate the MHC.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide information and assistance to individuals, families, small group employees, and brokers seeking information, enrollment assistance, and other services related to the MHC

  • Utilize the State's eligibility and enrollment portal and CRM software and other State systems to perform all tasks and duties for HIX customers
  • Assist individuals regarding eligibility and enrollment for Medicaid, and services applications and enrollments for Qualified Health Plans on the Exchange
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and transactions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills

Essential Qualifications

* 1+ year of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a call center or healthcare setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare or insurance setting

  • Knowledge of Medicaid and Qualified Health Plans
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers who speak multiple languages
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

Training and Onboarding

* Comprehensive training program, including: + 7-day training session, 9:00 am-5:30 pm EST, M-F + 8-day training session, 9:00 am-5:30 pm EST, M-F + Nesting period, 4 weeks, 9:00 am-5:30 pm EST

  • Ongoing support and coaching to ensure successful transition into the role

Schedule

* 8-hour shift, day shift

  • No less than 40 hours per week
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed
