Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present program materials, outlines, and instructional strategies based on departmental goals, program competencies, and course entrance and exit requirements
• Teach courses during day, evening, Saturday, on campus, and off campus, dual-enrolled, and online when requested
• Maintain all required class/laboratory and exam meeting times for assigned courses
• Evaluate students' progress in a timely and consistent manner, including tests, exams, projects, and research assignments
• Prepare daily lectures/activities and supplemental course materials to enhance instruction
• Examine new textbooks and software, and institute new methods and ideas to improve courses utilizing course outcome data
• Develop, revise, and improve course syllabi for all courses taught
• Assist students with career/academic goal development and registration, and advise all assigned advisees and monitor their progress toward graduation
• Maintain accurate administrative records pertaining to classes, including grade reporting, class roster verification, and course data collection
• Post and maintain required office hours to assist and advise students
• Develop and implement a professional development plan consistent with the discipline taught and the college's annual employee requirements

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Master's degree in the teaching discipline or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline. A valid Driver's license is also required. You should have a strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, as well as excellent communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, preferred qualifications include experience teaching accounting courses at the post-secondary level, knowledge of curriculum development and assessment, and experience with online learning platforms.
