Position Overview

The Department of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center is recruiting a faculty member at the Assistant Instructor level. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified/Board Prepared in Emergency Medicine and possess or be eligible for a Texas Medical License. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a productive teaching and learning environment, with opportunities for subspecialty activities and research.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department
• Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows
• Engage in research and scholarly activities, with opportunities for subspecialty focus
• Contribute to the administration and leadership of the Department of Emergency Medicine
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential qualifications:

• Board Certification/Board Preparation in Emergency Medicine
• Possession or eligibility for a Texas Medical License
• Strong clinical and teaching skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in Emergency Medicine research and education
• Fellowship training in a subspecialty area, such as Toxicology, Disaster Medicine, EMS, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, or Emergency Ultrasound
