Remote role Full-time Open position

The Role We’re hiring board-certified physicians as 1099 independent contractors to perform comprehensive telehealth evaluations for Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) certifications. You’ll meet patients over secure video, perform a focused history and exam, determine medical necessity, and work with our operations team to complete Department of Labor form WH-380 (or employer equivalents). You control your schedule, choose the visit mix that suits you, and are paid per encounter, regardless of whether the patient ultimately qualifies for leave. All clinical decisions remain 100% yours. What You’ll Do Deliver High-Integrity Tele-Visits

  • Conduct video exams (mental-health or complex physical)
  • Run 25-30 min follow-ups & recerts
  • Document findings in our EMR immediately after each encounter

Complete FMLA Documentation

  • Fill WH-380-E/F & similar forms
  • Estimate incapacity duration or intermittent-leave cadence
  • E-sign forms within 24 hrs; clarify details if employer request

Practice Evidence-Based Medicine

  • Apply DSM-5 criteria for mental health cases
  • Reference accepted guidelines for chronic and post-op conditions
  • Educate patients on treatment plans & follow-up care

Uphold Clinical Quality

  • Participate in quarterly peer-review meetings (remote)
  • Follow our documentation checklist to ensure every form is “complete & sufficient”
  • Report red flags or fraud concerns immediately

Collaborate with the Ops Team

  • Provide input on clinical templates and telehealth workflow improvements
  • Give feedback that shapes patient-facing FAQs and resources

Your Strengths

  • Clinical Versatility - Board-certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, or PM&R; adept at evaluating both physical & mental health conditions.
  • Documentation Mastery - You write concise yet thorough notes that easily withstand HR or DOL scrutiny.
  • Multi-State Licensure - Active licenses in ≥10 states or eligibility for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
  • Tech Fluency - Comfortable in browser-based EMRs, e-fax, Docusign, and basic video troubleshooting.
  • Time-Management - You can keep a 45-minute visit on track without cutting corners and sign forms the same day.

What You’ll Bring

  • MD or DO with clean, unrestricted licenses in at least three states (more is better).
  • Prior FMLA or disability-evaluation experience.
  • Current board certification (ABFM, ABIM, ABPN, or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of post-residency clinical practice (telehealth counts).
  • Reliable broadband, webcam, quiet workspace, and comfort with 100 % remote care.
  • Malpractice coverage
  • Excellent written & spoken English.

Bonus Skills

  • Spanish or other language proficiency.
  • Familiarity with WH-380 variants and state paid-leave forms (CA CFRA, NY PFL, etc.).

Role Details & Requirements

  • Commitment - 10–30 hrs/week (you pick fixed clinic blocks)
  • Schedule - At least 2 hrs overlap with 9 am–7 pm ET weekdays
  • Contract Type - 1099 independent contractor via physician-owned PC
  • Location - Remote – U.S. only
  • EMR & Tools - VSee Clinic, Carbon EMR, HIPAA e-fax, Stripe payouts

Job Type: Contract Pay: $100.00 - $120.00 per hour Benefits:
