Braintree Academy PT Virtual JH Teacher 2025-26 Candidates must live in one of the Braintree work states in order to qualify: ID, IN, MS, ND, OK, TN, UT, WY General Job Description: We are seeking dedicated educators with Math Endorsement to provide support for students in grades 6th through 8th, as well as their parent learning coaches, within a flexible, home-centered educational environment. Our teachers collaborate closely with families, offering guidance and resources to ensure each student’s success. Leveraging various online tools, teachers deliver support and maintain open lines of communication with students and parents. Candidates must live in one of the Braintree States: ID, IN, MS, ND, OK, TN, UT, WY Role Highlights:

  • Flexible Hours: Primarily asynchronous with the need for a minimum of 3 hours (in at least one-hour blocks) of availability between 8-4 pm in the State you are working for SST, family meetings, IEP meetings, etc.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Work both synchronously and asynchronously with fellow educators, contributing to a supportive and dynamic team culture.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must reside in one of the following states to be eligible: Idaho, Indiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, or Wyoming.
  • This role is ideal for educators looking to make a meaningful impact in a student-centered, adaptable teaching environment.
  • A current teaching license in Science with willingness/eligibility to transfer the license to the application state.

Braintree 2025-26 Teacher Roles Assignment: Each teacher holds a JH Homeroom and works within a teaching Cohort. Hours for JH teachers: Average Hours: 75 Students-Up to 9-11/week Teachers may not go over 20 hrs each week unless given special permission. Most teachers work between 8-15 hrs. Part-time Teacher Essential Responsibilities Communication: Respond to all communications (parent, student, staff) within 24 hours of receipt during school days. Grading: All grading will be completed within 7 days of assignments being submitted. Grading responsibilities: biweekly grading with feedback, and semester learning plan feedback & electives for all states. Any states with attendance checks as well. State Testing:

  • Administer any required screeners/tests as assigned by the state or Partner.
  • Participate in In-person testing if living in the state.

IEP/504/Parent Meeting:

  • Prepare for and attend all IEP, 504, or parent meetings unless an extenuating circumstance exists. Notification to the A.D of SpEd or SST and submitted written student input required. Review plans and accommodations at the start of each semester.

Interventions: Participate in the MTSS process by assisting families with interventions, collecting data, and presenting information to the Intervention Team. Track Data:

  • Student data tracking (state testing results, communication log, etc.)

Student Support Availability:

  • Provide families with three hours of weekly availability between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm (local time for your families) using a scheduling app. You may need to work with families to find alternative times if needed.
  • These need to be in 1-hour blocks.

Professional Learning Communities and Faculty Meetings:

  • Attend 1 monthly faculty & 1 monthly PLC meeting monthly with the camera on.
  • Be present and give valuable input.

Professional Development:

  • Attend and/or complete professional development provided throughout the year required by BES and/or your partner district. Any missed meetings will need to be communicated ahead of time with PLC Lead or supervisor.
  • Maintain teacher licensure is a requirement of the teacher as a professional.

Teacher Evaluation: Participate in the teacher evaluation process through the school year as outlined by Braintree. Daily Tasks:

  • Check Google Calendar for any required meetings
  • Check & respond to communication (emails, calls, messages) within 24 hours, excluding weekends or holidays
  • Check Schoology (LMS) for any submitted assignments
  • Additional expectations may be required depending on the state teachers work in.

Weekly Tasks:

  • Read & Act on Weekly Teacher Update items each Tuesday.
  • Provide a minimum of three hours of daytime availability between 8-3pm for parent & student support meetings each week.
  • Mark missing assignments in Schoology by Tuesday at 5:00. This ensures accurate attendance data.
  • Check the progress of any intervention students and support as needed
  • Communicate on submission progress with families & students who may be failing or struggling
  • Keep an updated Braintree Google Calendar with a scheduler to support families & SpEd/SST as needed.
  • Attend any & all required Meetings (e.g. IEP, MTSS, Faculty, PLC meetings, Evaluator/Improvement)
  • Able and willing to work at least 15 hours each week if needed.
  • Grade all student work within 7 days of submission.

Other jobs and tasks as assigned:

  • Adhere to the Braintree Staff Handbook.
  • Ensure that instructional modifications required by a special education student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP), ELP, or 504 are being met.
  • Fulfill any other assigned roles/duties (PLC, Intervention classes, etc)
  • Have 15 hours of weekly availability to work if needed.
  • Have at least 3 hours weekly of daytime availability for meetings with students and faculty between the hours of 8am & 4 pm
