We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Director to join our team at Disney, working on live event productions. As a Remote Director, you will be responsible for coordinating live productions of remote games, working closely with school and college production offices to provide consistency and lend your expertise to the broadcast organization and student workforce.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the technical production of live remote game broadcasts, including following storylines and working with the event Producer to adjust the broadcast coverage plans as live events unfold. You will also work closely with the Event Operations division to determine technical facility and staff needs for those broadcasts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to schools on all aspects of TV production
• Liaise with school production partners to provide feedback on student-produced content
• Visit school production partner campuses to review equipment, discuss and recommend industry-standard production procedures, and provide a channel for guidance for school administrative staff
• Design, coordinate, and execute live productions of live, remote games, properly documenting assigned events
• Make on-the-spot decisions regarding what pictures and sounds will be broadcast
• Work with Producers and Operations teams to determine camera placement, design and execute the capture of desired shots, and integrate all elements of a broadcast

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Valid driver's license
• Knowledge of live game directing processes and technical equipment
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• In-depth knowledge of live remote game directing and sports history

• Understanding of the financial implications of directing live remote games
• Passion for popular culture and defining the preferences of ESPN's viewers
• Comprehension of market positioning and strategies of assigned games
• Willingness to travel
