Remote Associate Counsel, PIP - Tampa Opportunity

Join the GEICO Team as an Associate Counsel, PIP - Tampa and Drive Success in a Dynamic Remote Environment! We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Counsel to defend lawsuits filed in Florida courts and other first-party insurance defense matters. As a key member of our Staff Counsel team, you will utilize your expertise to research laws, prepare legal briefs, and render opinions on liability, damages, and value.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of cases, including preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, as well as defending trials and dispositive hearings. Key Responsibilities

• Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
• Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
• Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath
• Defend trials and dispositive hearings as assigned

Requirements

• 2-6+ years of experience in related field litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury
• Juris Doctor degree
• Admission to the Florida Bar
• Licensed in good standing to practice law in Florida
• Ability to travel as required
• Strong organization, priority setting, and multi-tasking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Civil litigation experience
• Insurance defense-related litigation experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
