Tutors - Part Time - Academic Support for CCBC Students
Job Summary:
We are seeking part-time tutors to provide academic support to students at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). As a tutor, you will play a vital role in promoting effective study habits and learning strategies, enabling students to become independent learners. - Location: Baltimore County, MD (Multiple locations: Catonsville Campus, Dundalk Campus, and Essex Campus)
- Position: Part-time Tutors
- Compensation: Competitive salary range: $15.82 - $20.50 per hour (dependent on education level)
- Start Date: Immediate openings available
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one, small group, and online assistance to students
- Promote study skills and learning strategies
- Visit classes to advertise services and encourage student participation
- Document time spent with each student and material covered
- Attend training sessions to become College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certified
- Mentor, observe, and evaluate other tutors as assigned
Requirements:
- Tutor I: 9+ college-level credits with a B average and faculty recommendation
- Tutor II: Associate's degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Tutor III: Bachelor's degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Tutor IV: Master's degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Demonstrated subject area competence
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
- Prior tutoring experience preferred
