Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Assistant

In this role, you will assist professional therapeutic recreational specialist personnel in providing therapeutic recreational services, conduct group and individual classes, and observe and assess patients' reactions to treatment. You will also maintain recreational equipment, escort clients to recreational activities, and supervise nonprofessional therapeutic recreation personnel. About the Role

• Assist professional therapeutic recreational specialist personnel in providing therapeutic recreational services to special populations
• Conduct group and individual classes, and field trips
• Observe and assess patients' reactions to treatment and report reactions to professional therapeutic recreational specialist
• Maintain recreational equipment and escort clients to recreational activities
• Supervise and assign work to nonprofessional therapeutic recreation personnel

Requirements

• Two years of experience in an organized recreational program as a worker, teacher, instructor, or counselor
• College training will substitute for the required experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience
• Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university
