DevOps Engineer

This is a remote position.

Our Client has built an unique Startup to enhance Kubernetes for developers. Their founders - the biggest IT investors in the USA - have led tech innovation for decades and are now taking Kubernetes to the next level. They build an open-source ecosystem for the next generation products and projects. They are currently extending their team in Latin America, filling key roles and look forward to matching with talented engineers. Our client is growing fast in the Americas, and we’re looking for an open-minded, experienced DevOps Engineer to help drive their expansion. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role: you’ll lead technical conversations, guide onboarding, and ensure customer success as they adopt their product. They need an engineer who can deeply understand their customers’ needs, their product, and help drive a high quality customer experience. Role description:
  • Act as a Support/Pre-sales Engineer: guide and support customers through onboarding and adoption of their product.
  • Collaborate with the product and engineering team to improve installation and admin workflows.
Day-to-day activities include:
  • Handling questions and issues reported by customers and trial users (primarily via Slack).
  • Conducting support calls for installation and configuration issues, including debugging sessions.
  • Researching and supporting deployments in complex, enterprise environments—sometimes involving unfamiliar tools or workflows.
  • Contributing to product packaging or documentation fixes as needed.
Internal company DevOps/SRE tasks:
  • Participate in internal DevOps and SRE activities, as needed, depending on support volume.
Requirements

General requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps.
  • Strong Kubernetes (K8s) knowledge and hands-on experience.
  • Excellent communication skills—this is a customer-facing role.
  • English proficiency required.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with testing frameworks to understand our product and customer use cases.
  • Backend development skills (especially Golang) for better collaboration with the
  • engineering team and full-stack understanding.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Expert in Kubernetes administration and configuration.
  • Advanced knowledge in:
  • Networking, certificates, CI/CD, Helm, Terraform, GitOps.
  • Cloud platform experience (GCP preferred; AWS or Azure a plus).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure tools: Prometheus, Vault, Istio, Dex, MongoDB, etc.
  • Experience with OpenShift and related components.
  • Nice to have experience with testing frameworks/tools (e.g., Playwright, Postman, Cypress).

Soft skills:

  • Excellent communication skills—able to lead conversations with customers and drive issues to resolution.
  • Self-accountability and ownership: you’ll be the primary point of contact for customer technical onboarding.
