Job Summary: The education specialist is responsible for coordinating educational opportunities for students in the following programs: The FNSBSD homeschool program grades K-12 The structured online program for grades 9-12 Retirement: State of Alaska TRS Bargaining Unit: Fairbanks Education Association (FEA) Salary: Determined by the Contract Length: Minimum of 184 days Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position): * Must hold a valid Alaska Type A teaching certificate. Applicants/employees must have a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience. Must exhibit strong oral, and written communication skills; excellent data collection and interpretation skills. Must have skills in the use of multimedia and computer technology. Must possess strong working knowledge of content, curricula other than that approved by the FNSBSD, methods, and materials of instructional specialty; analytical skills to accurately assess complex issues. Must possess knowledge of community resources, and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of homeschool and alternative educational programs; in particular, online learning, and blended learning.
