We are currently in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to help tutor students at after-school programs. The ideal candidate will care about the academic success of young students and have experience in organizing tutorial sessions. This is a part-time position that will require regular communication with tutored students' parents to help ensure that the children are learning and advancing at a steady pace. JOB DESCRIPTION Applicants can expect to teach and/or tutor individual students, small groups, and classes of up to 25 students. Teachers will be assigned academic subjects, test prep courses, and counseling duties according to their strengths. They will plan classes around provided class material, handle attendance and other academic record keeping, complete student evaluations, be consulted about curriculum design, and attend faculty meetings and workshops. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist high school students in the mastery of relevant subjects Teach daily lessons according to Elite curriculum Instruct multiple students in a small-group tutoring or classroom setting (class sizes range from 5-25 students) Monitor and record student progress Offer creative solutions to problems, both inside and outside of the classroom Job Type: Part-time Salary: $28.00 - $45.00 per hour Schedule: After school Monday to Friday Weekends as needed Ability to commute/relocate: San Jose, CA 95118: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Experience: Tutoring AP Calc: 3 years (Required) tutoring AP Physics or Physics: 3 years (Required) Work Location: San Jose (MUST IN PERSON) Expected salary : $35 - 50 per hour Location : San Jose, CA Apply Job!
