Job title: Dance Instructor I & II Company: Foothills Park & Recreation District Job description : Position: Dance Instructor I & II Foothills is in need of a fun and energetic youth dance instructor to fit into our positive non-competitive environment. The instructor is responsible for instructing, explaining, and demonstrating dance techniques and methods with musical or rhythmic accompaniment to youth dancers varying levels of skill and ability. Must be available to sub occasional weekday evenings and mornings if needed. Availability needed: Monday evenings September to December Wednesday mornings in August The Dance Instructor will be hired dependent upon experience in the following positions: Experience and Skills Dance Instructor I Rate $19.25/hour Graduate from high school or completion of GED 2+ years of previous experience in a specialized dance form Dance Instructor II Rate $24.50/hour 5+ years experience of teaching in a specialized dance form Instructor must be a working dancer and/or dance educator with at least 3 of the following criteria: Bachelor degree in Dance or directly related field 10 years of on-going experience in the specialized form of dance Have completed an internship/apprenticeship or affiliation with a dance company for 3+ years Possesses extensive knowledge gained through a variety of specialized workshops/trainings and/or a membership with a major recognized dance organization Job Benefits As a Part-Time Foothills employee, benefits include: FREE use of our recreation/fitness centers, swimming pools, and ice arena FREE drop-in fitness classes (includes but is not limited to yoga, Zumba and aerobic classes) Golf discounts ($3 - $14 for 9 holes depending on day of week, free driving range and more) Discounts on other recreation programs/classes Flexible schedule Accrued sick time (1 hour for every 30 hours worked) Wellness Program- earn points for additional program discounts/free classes Scholarship Program (eight $500 scholarships awarded per year) Eligible to participate in 401(k) plan About Us Creating Community, Enhancing Health, Inspiring Play We fulfill our mission by providing a variety of recreational services, programs and activities for both youth and adults.
