The New Jersey Tutoring Corps seeks to hire tutors to work with scholars in partnership with iLearn Schools. Tutors will work with small groups of scholars, typically in groups of 1-5, in grades K-8 in building skills in math and literacy. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Engage with scholars in grades K-8 to build on existing mathematics and/or literacy skills. Complete daily records on scholar progress and site needs using the tools provided. Use data to drive instruction. Communicate regularly with your site coordinator to provide optimum learning- experiences for scholars. Participate in coaching from an instructional coach. Use an asset-based approach in working with scholars. Be responsive and work collaboratively with other tutors and site staff. Complete all training. QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications: Experience working with young children, preferably in a learning and teaching capacity; Standard certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS) to receive a $40 hourly pay rate; without a certificate, you will be paid at a $30 hourly rate; New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form); Experience with Google Suite functions including Google Sheets and Forms; Professional skills include attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness; Reliable transportation to travel to sites. Employer Qualifications: Genuine desire to work with young children in a teaching capacity, building on foundational skills and closing learning gaps using formative and summative data and strong teaching pedagogy.
