Pay starts at $25/hour Company: Jovie Job description : College Tutors of Indiana is an approved Indiana Learns Learning Partner and are seeking experienced tutors/teachers who are available to tutor Indiana Learns students in Math and/or ELA, grades 3-8 at Butler Lab School 60, located near 38th and Pennsylvania Street in Indianapolis. Tutoring will take place on-premises at school and tutors have the option to tutor before school at 8am and/or after school at 4:10pm. Candidates must be available to tutor at least three time slots per week. The purpose of the Indiana Learns program is to help students close learning gaps and gain proficiency in Math and ELA , grades 4-8. (Proficiency means opportunity, and that is why we love love to tutor). If you have teaching experience, and love helping students overcome challenges, and achieve their goals while building confidence, let?s set up some time to discuss how you can help make a significant impact in a student?s life. Pay range: $25/hour, and increases with additional students/session (maximum number of students per session is three). Provides students with academic assistance and guidance to students, serves as a role model to students. Plans and prepares for each tutoring session using student material as a guide. Ability to maintain a consistent schedule each semester. (This is a flexible position with availability chosen by the tutor, but maintaining a consistent schedule each semester, based on your chosen availability, is critical). Evaluates student progress toward goals and determines appropriate courses of action . Assists in the development of a positive attitude toward learning, studying and academics. Submits session notes for work within 24 hours of completion of session. Competencies: Competent in at least one of the core subject areas: Math or Language Arts, grades 3-8. Critical Thinking: maintains good judgment, time management, trustworthiness, and responsibility. Can evaluate student understanding and use appropriate teaching methods. Communication Skills: ability to listen to others, provide appropriate feedback, communicate professionally to develop and maintain successful work relationships. Demonstrated ability for effective report writing and communication with both students and adults. Interpersonal Skills ? can build rapport with student, parents, family members; able to work both independently and collaboratively. Qualifications Previous or current teaching experience. Must have reliable computer and open to online tutoring. Is available to complete the entire semester. Must pass a background check. Must be a citizen of the United States.
