Financial Controller / Accounting Manager – Spot On Veterinary Hospital & Hotel – Stamford, CT
Job title: Financial Controller / Accounting Manager Company: Spot On Veterinary Hospital & Hotel Job description: We are searching for an experienced, detail oriented and highly organized Controller to coordinate and manage the finances of our quickly growing and expanding family owned, state of the art veterinary hospital and pet hotel with multiple entities headquartered in Stamford CT. The Controller will be responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, financial statements, budgets, cash forecasts, and file maintenance. The accounting manager will help to create, streamline, and organize our financial processes as we expand from one location to two (and beyond) and grow from a single entity to a multiple entity structure. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Oversight of the Accounts Payable processes, including:
- Audit of PO process
- Audit invoice entry to A/P system
- Processing of payments
- Administering automatic payments
- Reconciliation of statements
- Oversight of the Sales/Accounts Receivable processes, including:
- Reconciling Daily sales numbers and reports
- Creating monthly sales reports
- Calculating monthly production
- Collections
- Process payroll & retirement administration
- Calculate and pay monthly sales tax
- Organize and verify bank deposits and reconciliations
- Prepare general ledger journal entries in Quickbooks Online
- Preparation and analysis of monthly Financial Statements
- Process intercompany billings
- Administration of corporate credit card charges
- Assist management in budgeting process
- Collaborate closely with our Accounting Firm
- Performing other duties as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Detail oriented, highly organized and self-motivated professional
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
- Motivated to learn & grow
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
- CPA desired but not required
- Proven background in small business with multiple locations
- Minimum 5 years practical accounting experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in business with multiple locations
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong proficiency with Quickbooks Online and Google sheets
