• Job Summary* We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Hardware Store Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. This position involves operating cash registers, assisting with inventory management, and providing exceptional customer service in a hardware store environment. If you have a passion for... retail or home improvement and enjoy working in a fast-paced setting, we encourage you to apply. • Responsibilities* - Operate cash registers efficiently and accurately to process customer transactions. - Operate forklift or skidsteer to move, load and unload product. - Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining product displays to ensure the store is well-organized and visually appealing. - Engage with customers to provide assistance, answer questions, and promote products through effective upselling techniques. - Conduct product demonstrations to showcase new items and encourage sales. - Maintain knowledge of retail math to assist in inventory management and sales reporting. - Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally. • Qualifications* - Previous experience in a hardware store or retail environment is preferred but not required. - Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. - Basic knowledge of cash register operations and retail math principles. - Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating leadership skills when supervising others. - Experience with product demonstrations and sales techniques is an advantage. - Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking in a busy environment.
