Communications Intern – United States / New York, NY / Philadelphia, PA

Remote role Full-time Open position

The Communications Intern is an important, supporting role for Gopuff’s highly-productive and nimble communications team. Reporting to the Communications Manager, this role will support a variety of day-to-day media relations, internal communications and influencer marketing tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity for a young professional to gain experience in consumer, internal, corporate, and crisis communications.

Responsibilities

  • Create media lists and support with media outreach, helping to build key media relationships and manage inbound media requests.
  • Draft pitches, blog posts, press releases, internal communications and more.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments, including merchandise and marketing, to identify newsworthy stories and help secure appropriate coverage.
  • Support thought leadership and executive communications initiatives by developing briefs.
  • Support with identifying, vetting, and recruiting content creators for relevant brand partnerships and company initiatives.
  • Administrative support including developing mailers and organizing sample deliveries.
  • Track news coverage and help package results to be shared with Gopuff’s leadership team.
  • Research and develop regular reports on company, competitor and industry trends.
  • Participate in brainstorms for promotional brand initiatives.
  • Monitor cultural trends to ensure the team takes advantage of real-time opportunities that align with company priorities.
  • Additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference may be given to candidates located in Philadelphia or New York City
  • Experience pitching and cultivating relationships with media and influencers
  • Understanding of and experience in the podcast and substack space
  • Photography, graphic design and content creation experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student (18 years or older) with relevant internship or work experience
  • In good academic standing (3.0 or above GPA)
  • Available to work at least 20 hours per week from June 2 -August 8 (10 weeks), with a preference for a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday work schedule
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, writing and editing skills with careful attention to detail
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to think critically
  • Highly motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and bias for action
