Appointments will be in one or more departments, including , , , or .These exciting new positions are associated with the university's in biosciences, expanding life sciences research on the Bloomington campus.We are particularly interested in researchers working in areas of synthetic biology who can synergize with existing research strengths in the departments noted above. Representative topics of interest could include enzyme engineering, biocatalysis, metabolic engineering, biosensing and diagnostics, genome design, and cellular design and engineering. New approaches that incorporate evolution, selection methods, machine learning, and artificial intelligence are also of interest, as are methods to develop novel biological systems, including microbes, microbiomes, synthetic consortia, and plants, for synthetic biology. We encourage applications from scholars who apply interdisciplinary perspectives across a variety of these domains.Responsibilities: Candidates are expected to sustain an active, internationally recognized, externally funded research program, to engage undergraduate and graduate students through effective teaching, and to participate in service to the university and the profession.
