- Provide technical assistance to the Director, Statistical Unit, and staff;
- Answer the telephone, field questions from system users and/or refer callers to subject matter experts;
- Enter data into the Communicable Disease Electronic Surveillance System, including but not limited to all influenza cases and other vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs);
- Transfer laboratory information from the Electronic Communicable Laboratory Reporting System (ECLRS) to CDESS;
- Perform tasks associated with mailings or faxes to system users including registration forms or other informational materials;
- Support providers and school users looking to set up new accounts for use of the online New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS);
- Answer the telephone and perform searches in NYSIIS to locate individual's immunization records.
- Process and send back records in a confidential manner.
- Experience with personal computers, including experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook); general office experience.
- Proofreading skills and attention to detail; excellent communication skills, including telephone skills and customer service; ability to work independently and prioritize work load.
