Primary Location Rapid City, SD USA Department MHMC-RC Neurosurgery Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Starting Pay Rate Range $24.75 - $28.45 (Determined by the knowledge, skills, and experience of the applicant.) As an LPN within Long Term Care, you will be an active part of a relationship-centered care team delivering safe, efficient, and effective care to the residents. You will utilize your nursing skills in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide individualized patient care. You will be an advocate in the care of individuals in conjunction with interdisciplinary teams of healthcare providers, family members and support systems. Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Correctly administers medications and immunizations according to the established policies and within their professional boundaries.
  • Foresees the requirements of the healthcare provider by preparing the patient, equipment, and examination space for the necessary procedure. Patient care areas are kept stocked with the right supplies and at the suitable volumes.
  • Assist the Medical Assistant or Clinical Assistant in making patient care choices within the framework of their approved scope of practice.
  • Supports the Registered Nurse in gathering pertinent data for the admission assessment by reviewing charts, observing, or conducting audits, following age-appropriate criteria.
  • Supports the Registered Nurse in the repetitive nursing cycle by helping with nursing evaluations, collaborating in nursing diagnosis formulation, participating in care planning and nursing intervention creation, and contributing to evaluating responses to nursing interventions.
  • Ensure the IDPOC is consistently updated with precise information in a timely manner
  • Consistently ensures a smooth patient flow, demonstrating the capability to discern urgency levels in patient care decision-making.
  • Illustrates the competency and wisdom essential for successfully putting into practice physician orders, protocols, and nursing procedures.
  • Enhances collaborative processes by influencing the relationships between different disciplines.
  • Conveys the treatment plan and objectives to the patient, family, or team.
  • Contributes to the assessment, planning, intervention, and review of care in diverse complex scenarios informed by evidence-based care practices.
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation of the healthcare services delivered to patients.
  • Further obligations as delegated.

Additional Requirements Required: Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursingCertification - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing Preferred: Experience - 1+ years of Healthcare Experience Physical Requirements: Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
