Full Time Registered Nurse

Montgomery County Emergency Service (MCES) is Hiring! We are located on the grounds of Norristown State Hospital in Norristown, PA and accessible by public transportation. We are looking for Full Time Psychiatric Registered Nurses who would like to join our team! Work Schedule: ? 69 hours/bi-weekly (3- 12 hour shifts per week), ? 7pm - 7am Monday-Friday and every other weekend ? Inpatient Psych Unit or Walk in Crisis Center Education / Experience Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing w/ minimum of an Associate's degree and one (1) year of Psychiatric Nursing experience. Prior Charge Nurse experience in a Psychiatric setting, a plus. BSN or MSN preferred. Must have valid PA Nursing License and CPR. Job Duties: Primary responsibilities for the Psychiatric Registered Nurse include: - The staff Registered Nurse provides patient care through the utilization of the nursing process. - The nursing process is demonstrated by the nurse?s ability to work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team in planning, directing, providing, evaluating, and promoting recovery based patient care. - The staff Registered Nurse is responsible for the nursing care provided by the nursing department staff assigned to the individual patients. - The staff Registered Nurse also may function as a medication nurse. - Must be able to demonstrate competency in planning and providing nursing care for special disabilities patients, geriatric patients, and co-occurring patients while maintaining standards for behavior, completion of ADLs, daily assessment, (withdrawal symptoms), and assessing individual symptoms relevant to diverse type of patient - Must be able to work independently and professionally with others and be detailed oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills. This position has a strong emphasis on documentation and requires flexibility. starting salary range: $36/hr - $38/hr + shift differential & weekend PRN rates.
