You will work independently while being part of a collaborative team, adapting to the dynamic flight attendant lifestyle that includes variable shifts and travel across the globe. In this position, you will also be required to attend up to 6 1/2 weeks of unpaid training in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Upon successful completion of training, you may be assigned to one of our base locations, which include major cities such as Boston, Charlotte, New York City, and Los Angeles. Your role will involve not only providing outstanding service but also demonstrating leadership in emergency and non-emergency situations, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed. You will need to meet our high standards of dependability to ensure timely flights and adhere to company policies and performance standards. Set a high standard of consistent in-flight service that includes serving hot and cold meals/beverages and selling onboard products , ? Handle a wide variety of situations while in continuous contact with the public, both on and off the aircraft , ? Work independently while still being part of a collaborative team and without supervision , ? Ensure the safety and comfort of our customers , ? Provide leadership by responding to a variety of emergency and non-emergency situations , ? Work in climates and locations across the globe and work variable shifts , ? Meet our high standards of dependability to ensure our flights are on time , ? Adhere to company policies, procedures, and attendance/performance standards , ? Adhere to alternative work schedules, including evenings and weekends , ? Demonstrate the ability to adapt to the flight attendant lifestyle Requirements ? Must be at least 20 years of age , ? High school diploma or GED equivalent required , ? Height and weight must allow for the safe operation of the aircraft and may not exceed specific aircraft dimensions , ? Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test , ? Must pass a TSA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check and background check , ? Must be in possession of a valid U.S. or Foreign Passport with applicable VISAs , ? Must have the legal right to work in the United States and ability to travel unrestricted to/from all states and countries served by American Airlines , ? Willing to relocate based on the company's operational needs if applicable , ? Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours if needed , ? Able to be on call and available to report for duty in your assigned base (reserve duty) , ? Must be able to professionally represent the American Airlines brand while in the Flight Attendant uniform; no visible tattoos, no more than one (1) earring per ear , ? Ability to attend up to 6 1/2 weeks of unpaid training in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, and, if employed, move immediately to the city to which you are assigned as a base Nice-to-haves ?
