ServiceNow Developer for Information Technology

UTHealth Houston is seeking a skilled and motivated ServiceNow Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ServiceNow development and a passion for creating efficient and effective solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications and services. • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. • Perform integrations and automate processes using ServiceNow capabilities. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ServiceNow applications. • Maintain and enhance existing ServiceNow applications. • Stay updated with the latest ServiceNow features and best practices. Qualifications: • Proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer. • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow modules, including ITSM and HRSD. • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies. • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and integrations. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Certification in ServiceNow is required for this role, and all candidates should have at least a year of experience supporting this program. This role will be a combination of on-site and remote, depending on business needs and issues to resolve. It is a position that is eligible for all of UTHealth Houston's benefits, including medical care coverage and a pension plan run by the State of Texas. Position Summary: Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ServiceNow applications and solutions to support UTHealth Houston business processes. Position Key Accountabilities: • Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications, modules, workflows, and forms. • Integrate ServiceNow with external systems and applications using web services and APIs. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand business needs. • Utilize data import techniques and processes specifically related to Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Procurement modules. • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented coding using JavaScript, SQL, Angular, REST, XML, and other relevant technologies. • Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure the quality and stability of developed applications. • Work closely with senior developers to implement best practices and adhere to coding standards. • Assist in the configuration and administration of the ServiceNow platform. • Participate in the evaluation and adoption of ServiceNow features and functionalities. • Collaborate with end-users to provide support, resolve issues, and enhance existing applications. • Maintain and update technical documentation related to development activities. • Performs other duties as assigned. Certification/Skills: ServiceNow Certified Application Developer required. ServiceNow Certified System Administrator preferred. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's Degree preferred. Minimum Experience: One (1) year of related experience. Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
