Director, Accounts Payable and Procurement

Join our dynamic team at Abnormal Security, we are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Accounts Payable and Procurement to lead the rollout of new procurement policies as manage accounts payable functions. Reporting to the VP, Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring efficient financial operations and contributing to our strategic objectives. What you will do • Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounts payable and procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. • Accounts Payable Management: Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Procurement Strategy: Develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive procurement strategy to optimize vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards. • Policy Development: Establish and lead the rollout of new policies and procedures related to accounts payable, procurement, and expense management. Ensuring all stakeholders are informed and trained in compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable and procurement processes through automation, system enhancements, and best practices. • Financial Analysis: Conduct analysis of procurement spend, vendor performance, and cost trends to support decision-making and improve financial efficiency. • Vendor Relationships: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers in negotiating terms, renewals, and resolving issues to support business operations effectively. Influence vendor relationships by creating processes to enable timely closures and negotiations. • Cross Functional Partnerships: Collaborate with cross functional leaders such as IT, Legal, Security and FP&A on procurement planning, and provide comprehensive support on current and future initiatives requiring procurement support. • Compliance and Risk Management: Provide regular reports to senior management that ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations related to accounts payable, procurement activities, savings achieved and managing risk effectively. Must Haves: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CPP, CPM) preferred. • 10+ years of experience in a procurement and vendor management role or related in a B2B SaaS/Technology/Start-up environment and 2-5 years managing people • Proven success with software rationalization including developing and implementing long term procurement strategies • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated experience with managing contracts and vendor performance with a high level of accuracy. • Demonstrated experience with building procurement workflows and establishing processes and best practices procurement infrastructure, with a focus on technology procurement • Demonstrated experience with using sourcing strategy and best practices to bring forward vendors who provide us with the ideal SaaS and technology solutions. • Excellent negotiation and collaboration skills to drive consensus and the best outcomes for Abnormal Security • Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software and tools. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
