Senior Platform/DevOps Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Platform/DevOps Engineer based in Latin America with a strong background in platform engineering, and dev-ops, also familiar with working within a full stack, microservices/distributed software environment. The candidate will play a crucial role in supporting a medium-sized biotechnology and agricultural company, driving its platform's efficiency, scalability, and security.
The key responsibilities of this role will be as follows
- Platform & DevOps Engineering: Leverage expertise with K8S, EKS, helm charts, Python, and YAML-based configuration to enhance and maintain existing platform operations.
- Infrastructure as Code: Work closely with development teams to design, develop, and maintain existing infrastructure using Terraform and AWS resources.
- CICD Uplift: Collaborate with software engineering teams to streamline and enhance their CICD deployments. Drive the evolution of existing deployment and test strategies, including implementing advanced techniques such as blue/green deployments.
- SRE & Observability: Introduce, implement, and maintain observability tools and practices. Collaborate with the SRE team to ensure maximum uptime, performance, and scalability.
- Security: Work in tandem with the security team to ensure the existing platform and its deployments are secure. Implement best practices, monitor vulnerabilities, and mitigate risks.
The ideal candidate will have the following profile
- 5+ years of Engineering experience.
- 4+ years of platform/dev-ops experience in a full-stack, microservices/distributed environment.
- Strong communication skills in English (B2 / upper intermediate level) and Spanish.
- Strong proficiency with K8S, EKS, helm charts, Python, and YAML-based configurations.
- Extensive experience with Terraform and AWS resources, including but not limited to VPC, EFS, KMS, and S3.
- Proven track record of working with software engineering teams and enhancing their CICD deployments using CircleCI.
- Experience with advanced deployment strategies such as blue/green deployments.
- Knowledge of SRE observability practices and tools like Sysdig and Datadog.

- Experience programming in languages like Java, Kotlin, Scala or Python.
- Experience working in Life Sciences, pharma/biotech, or related scientific fields.
- Team player attitude with excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
