Job Description

Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for Homeowners Claims. Determines coverage, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates claims within limit of authority. This role works independently, prioritizing own responsibilities. Experienced homeowners/property adjusters with proven capabilties in assessing property damages & writing estimates in Xactimate & an active adjusters license required. This is a fully remote role and the ideal candidate will be seated in the Central Or Eastern Time zone. Prior claims handling in TX, LA, AL or AK is highly desirable. Candidates With Prior Insurance Carrier Experience Is Highly Desirable. Key Responsibilities • For claims involving fraud or subrogation, partners with assigned reps from those areas to achieve best outcome • Demonstrates intermediate understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department • Handles investigation regarding most aspects of homeowner first party claims (coverage, damages, subrogation) with the exercise of discretion and independence within increased level of authority • Recognizes and identifies key components of residential construction and repair • Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills • Demonstrates a basic understanding of systems and technology used within the company • Learns how to determine subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle Education • 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred) Experience • 2 or more years of experience (Preferred) Supervisory Responsibilities • This job does not have supervisory duties. Education & Experience (in lieu) • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
