Senior Software Testing Engineer/ Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Title: Senior Software Testing Engineer/ Quality Assurance Specialist Location(s): Washington, DC (Remote) Description: Seeking for a Senior Software Testing Engineer/ Quality Assurance Specialist with demonstrated experience in software testing in agile and waterfall development lifecycles. Responsibilities: • Define testing strategies for specific projects/releases to ensure that it is up to best practices and company standards • Create test plans and test execution plans, ensuring that the team meets the deadlines outlined in those plans. • Evaluate projects thought the life of the project and identify areas where improvement can be made • Report to upper management, including report progress, plans, risks and issues. • Evaluates, generates, executes, and maintains a full test library with test scenarios to ensure requirements coverage and regression coverage with positive and negative testing in line with Ampcus processes and procedures. • Author test cases (manual) for internal and external clientele. • As directed, lead meetings including defect management calls. • Execute tests (manual) • Distributes, Communicates, and Manages QA project(s) across the QA team • As requested, writes End User Release Notes and Technical Documentation generated with accuracy, completeness, and overall quality. • Provide estimation of tasks, and on-time delivery against stated schedules Required Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelor Degree or higher in Computer Information Systems or related field and/or an ISTQB certification • At least 3 years’ worth of leading projects and 10 years' quality assurance experience • Ability to evaluate, write test cases, test plans, and test scenarios • Detailed oriented. High defect/bug finder when it comes to executing manual tests of software applications. • Experience in working in an agile SDLC. • Experience in writing test cases for end users, user acceptance test participants and/or or business. • Must have a strong command of the English language and writing acumen. • Must be able to read and interpret business requirements and read/write technical specification documents. • Should have a basic understanding of source control/configuration management. • Must understand Software Quality Assurance best standards and practices. • Must be able to demonstrate individual and teamwork effort in collaborative processes. • Requires the ability to read and interpret technical documents and write a variety of business and technical documents. May include doing presentations on team activities. At least 10 years' experience in: • Creating Test Plans • Creating Test Scenarios • Creating Test Cases to be used as part of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for external clientele • One of these industries or equivalent: Capital Markets, Mortgage Backed Securities, Financial • Tools: JIRA, Microsoft Office • Extreme Proficiency in the English Language is a MUST : Must be able to independently write materials for publication on public websites and use by client stakeholders and end users. Preferred Skills and Qualifications: • Data Testing including SQL • Certificates in Agile, Project Management or ISTQB Desired Skills and Qualifications: • Experience in an Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) team • Knowledge of Azure, AWS • Knowledge of PeopleSoft • Microsoft Visio/Diagramming Solution • Automation Testing Ampcus is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
