About the position SoFi's Senior AI Specialist - GenAI, NLP (Banking/Financial Services) is a hands-on engineering role within the independent risk organization. This position focuses on applying data processing and artificial intelligence techniques to develop innovative solutions for risk management. The specialist will work closely with the Director of Engineering & AI to conceptualize, prototype, and implement AI-based solutions that enhance risk reporting and automate risk management processes, ultimately contributing to the company's mission of helping members manage their finances effectively. Responsibilities Design and develop AI-based solutions leveraging Generative AI and natural language processing for enhanced risk reporting and automated risk management processes. , Work with large structured and unstructured data sets, performing data sourcing, preprocessing, tokenization, and feature extraction. , Design, develop, and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions integrated with vector databases to improve output accuracy. , Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure timely project deliveries. , Monitor solution performance to meet compliance and security standards, implementing continuous improvement strategies. , Identify areas for process enhancements and automation within the risk management function. , Stay updated with trends in GenAI, LLMs, and NLP to drive AI innovation in banking. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field; PhD is a plus. , 8+ years of software development experience, with 5+ years in AI/ML focusing on Generative AI, Large Language Models, and NLP, preferably in banking or financial services. , Proven experience in developing and deploying production-grade GenAI and NLP solutions for risk management, document understanding, fraud detection, or compliance. , Proficiency in Python; knowledge of Java, Scala, or C++ is a plus. , Expert experience with frameworks like OpenAI GPT, GPT-3, GPT-4, or similar LLM platforms. , Proficiency in NLP libraries such as Hugging Face Transformers, SpaCy, NLTK, Gensim, and OpenNLP. , Experience with large-scale data handling, including unstructured text processing and data pipelines. , Experience with cloud-based machine learning platforms such as AWS and Snowflake. , Hands-on experience in deploying machine learning models using CI/CD pipelines and containers. , Experience developing and integrating AI-powered APIs and microservices architecture into banking applications. , Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and data lakes for handling large text data. , Experience with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation techniques.
