Part-Time 20 Hour Staff Accountant

Description We are searching for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in the Wholesale Distribution industry. This role is based in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, and offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. As a Staff Accountant, you will be tasked with handling a variety of accounting duties, including processing customer applications, maintaining customer records, and... resolving customer inquiries. This position is part-time between 20-25 hours each week. Monday and Tuesday are required to work half days and the remaining days are flexible with hours. Responsibilities • Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner • Maintain and update customer credit records regularly • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting • Manage and maintain the general ledger for accurate financial entries • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded • Assist with month-end close procedures for timely financial reporting • Utilize NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for various accounting tasks • Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary • Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance • Proven work experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Awareness of business trends • Familiarity with financial accounting statements • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages like FreshBooks and QuickBooks • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables • Accuracy and attention to detail • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP is a plus • Experience with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
