About the Role

Ontra is seeking an Account Director, Investment Banking, reporting to our Managing Director of New Sales, to join our growing Sales team. For this job, we are currently only hiring candidates based in the United States, with a preference for candidates in the Chicago and New York City Metropolitan areas. We’re looking for someone excited to cultivate strong relationships with new investment bank customers, enhance and expand on existing investment bank customer accounts, and strategically drive revenue growth. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious, extroverted closer who is adept at building and nurturing strong relationships with clients, is always on the hunt to expand business and is ready to adapt to new strategies and initiatives. What You’ll Do • Prospecting and Lead Qualification: Engage in intensive prospecting activities and qualify leads to build a robust sales pipeline. • Sales Process Management: Competently manage the sales process from initial discovery stages to closing, ensuring all steps are strategically executed. • Transaction Closure: Efficiently close transactional sell-side M&A processes, leveraging investment banking relationships to facilitate swift deals. • Account Acquisition and Growth: Focus on acquiring new investment bank accounts and driving revenue growth through existing relationships. • Strategic Planning and Execution: Collaborate with team members and managers to strategize and effectively execute sales calls, customer events, and educational sessions. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing and Customer Success teams to support go-to-market initiatives for investment banks. What You’ll Bring • Experience: 6+ years of sales experience as a top performer selling to investment banks, or 3+ years of experience as an investment banking professional. • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the investment banking industry, including key players and market trends. • Sales Expertise: Proven track record in sales or business development, ideally in closing deals and achieving targets within investment banks. • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with tech-enabled services and their application within investment banks is advantageous. • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively engaging with clients and stakeholders.
