DescriptionHumana is looking for an experienced EAP Counselor that truly enjoys helping those in need within a call center environment. Our EAP Counselor's provide ongoing and crisis intervention counseling focused on the emotional, social, vocational, educational, health-related, developmental, and organizational concerns that impact daily lives of Humana members. The team of over 20 Counselors working from their homes throughout the country handle over 300 calls a day providing an extremely positive impact on our members' lives.ResponsibilitiesThe Counselor 2 for EAP addresses a wide range of issues including problems in daily living, psychiatric crisis, and critical incidents. In addition:Handling inbound assess and referral calls as well as outbound calls that require expertise and knowledge of general mental health, risk assessment and substance misuse assessmentAbility to assess and develop effective short-term interventions for high risk situations (suicidality, severe substance abuse, psychiatric decompensation, etc.)Grief counseling, workplace problems, and management consultation.Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.Work on multi-function phone lineRequired QualificationsMaster's level degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other applicable fieldApplicable State licensure in field of study, licensed for independent clinical practice (LPC, LCSW, etc)5-10 years or more of work experience in applicable fieldSkilled with clinical assessment and live data entryExcellent verbal, communication, interpersonal skillsMulti-function phone skills.Ability to talk and type at the same time for live entryMust have proficient knowledge of MS Word, Mail Merge, ExcelPreferred QualificationsCertified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP)Experience providing EAP services and support telephonicallyKnowledge of community health and social service agencies and additional community resourcesBilingual (English/Spanish); speaking, reading, writing, interpreting and explaining documents in SpanishAdditional InformationLocation: WAH anywhere in the United StatesAbility to work 8 hour shift between 7AM to 7PM EST. Position requires one or two evenings per week, 2 days will require a 3pm -11:30pm EST.This is an hourly positionThis is a work from home position where you will be offering your expertise and support over the phone.Work at Home RequirementsMust have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role).
