Contract Full Stack Web Developer - CAKE About CAKE: CAKE is building a community-driven shopping experience that connects members with their favorite brands and provides increasing value the more they engage. We're passionate about creating a delightful and rewarding experience, and we're seeking a skilled Full Stack Web Developer to contribute to our platform's growth. About the Role: We're looking for a talented and experienced Full Stack Web Developer to join our team on a contract basis. You will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our web platform and, importantly, building a Shopify app to enhance data integration with our brand partners. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a dynamic product with a focus on community and innovative shopping, using a modern tech stack. Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain features for our web application using React, Next.js, and Vercel. • Design, develop, and deploy a Shopify app that enables seamless data integration between CAKE and our partner brands' e-commerce stores. • Work with our backend systems and databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, Inngest) to ensure data integrity and performance. • Integrate with third-party services like Klaviyo, Attentive, Stripe, Clerk, and Segment. • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code. • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features. • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving our development processes. • Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise. Required Skills: • Proven experience as a Full Stack Web Developer. • Strong proficiency in Typescript (ES6+). • Deep understanding of React and Next.js frameworks. • Experience with backend development using Node.js or a similar server-side technology. • Solid understanding of database design and management using PostgreSQL. • Experience building and deploying Shopify apps (essential). • Experience integrating with third-party APIs and services (Klaviyo, Attentive, Stripe, Clerk, Inngest, Segment a plus). • Familiarity with version control systems (Git). • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. • Strong communication and collaboration skills. Desirable Experience (Highly Valued): • Experience developing features for niche social networks or online communities. • Experience building innovative e-commerce or shopping applications with a strong focus on user experience. Bonus Skills: • Experience with Vercel deployment platform. • Experience with e-commerce platforms and integrations. • Understanding of web security best practices. • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
