Interactive Design & Delivery - Art Director (Hybrid)

As an Art Director working on projects with our Interactive team, you will work in collaboration with other creative and technical disciplines to create considered and elegant customer experiences and communications for the platform and interfaces of Channel partner websites, retail signage, DM, and other digital experience & marketing initiatives both online and in Channel stores. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, an impeccable design aesthetic, a demonstrated understanding of designing and leading cross-platform interactive experiences, style guides, systematic design rationale, and an extraordinary attention to detail. This role requires a proven record of graphic design and art direction for the in the digital space, with a particular focus on collaboration, thriving in a group environment and the ability to bring out the best in a team – design, copy, user experience, and development. Key Qualifications • Highly proficient in the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, balance, hierarchy, proportion, rhythm, emphasis, and unity. • Ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced, creative workplace and to deliver quality design at a high volume in a tight timeframe. Diligent, flexible, resourceful, independent with a strong work ethic. • Sketch, Photoshop, and InDesign expertise, including intelligently organizing files for design iteration, web production, and print production. • Excellent communication and presentation skills across internal teams with the ability to speak to both creative and technical audiences, both in verbal and in written form. • Passion for nurturing relationships, mentoring, and rallying teams to align around a vision. • Reliable judgment to see when work may be “off track” and collaborate with others to find solutions. • Strong understanding of front-end web and mobile development, including HTML, CSS, iOS, and other technologies. • Ability to distill complex asks into clear, elegant, and focused solutions. • A minimum of 7-9 years of relevant interactive experience, specializing in visual design for web and mobile. • A background in print or understanding of associated process and principles of print production are a plus. Description • Update and maintain our web and print assets for business partners in channel aligned to project goals, creative direction, and fluid templates. • Collaborate with designers, ACDs, and larger project teams to explore concepts and iterate on design layouts. Anticipate and solve for potential design challenges, as well as existing conditions. • Lead designers in day-to-day design tasks, working with producers and project teams to meet deadlines. Regularly review creative work with the group’s senior creative staff to get feedback on direction, and to ensure the work is aligned with other activities in the group. Lead presentations of the work internally to explain progress and ideas. • Prepare for creative reviews by outputting optimized files and presentation materials. • Design and update original direct marketing email content using existing design systems, libraries and internal tools. • Present persuasively and clearly articulate design rationale for project’s creative solutions. • Consult with technical disciplines to ensure designs work within given limitations, and files are prepared with all necessary information to support the design intent. • Replicate existing processes for file handoff to engineering teams, documentation, and design specs. • Review final deliverables with an exacting eye, ensuring that layout, images, and typography are flawless. • Continually seek opportunities to refine and evolve design thinking, processes and improve the creative team’s workflows.
