Part-Time Security Officer

Job Description: Will patrol the parking areas in both the long term lots, parking deck, and employees lots; keeping a high level of visibility. Parking Security ensures the rules governing the parking lot are followed, and report any suspicious activities when necessary to the PTAA Police Department. Parking Security Officers will not take any type of enforcement actions while on patrol. Patrols will consist of foot and vehicle patrol. Security Officers must be able to work in various weather conditions. Recruiting Pay Range: $19.00/hr - $22.00/hr Principal Responsibilities: • Patrol parking lot areas keeping a high level of visibility. • Report any suspicious activities when necessary to the PTAA Police Department. • Report to communications once an hour by radio. • Report criminal activity, fires, and other emergencies requiring a rapid response. • Patrols on foot in various areas as assigned. • Patrols parking lots / deck in a vehicle or on foot; checks vehicles; inspects gates, and other areas; detects unusual conditions; reports dangerous or defective lots, sidewalks, parking lot lights, or other hazardous conditions. • Maintains the exit lanes when TSA is off duty during flight hours. • Open-minded, creative thinker who is always willing to actively listen to others. • True team player with a high level of professional ethics, personal integrity, and exceptional judgment. • Passion for the airport environment with an ability to build strong rapport with visitors, local community, and staff. • Transformative, with a style that is confident, open, approachable, and transparent. • Promote the department’s work and goals to the general public through individual contact. • Maintain a high degree of visibility and engagement throughout the airport parking lots and parking deck. • Performs other duties as required. • Provides feedback on equipment and supply needs. • Operates a two-way radio to receive instructions and information from or to report information to communications center or coworkers; maintains vehicle, and other equipment in standards working order. • Prepares records and reports of activities if needed. • Assists stranded motorists; gives information and directions to visitors and the general public.
