Branch Service Manager

Job Summary: At Penske, you'll oversee the smooth functioning of the shop floor, ensuring timely maintenance and repair tasks are completed while managing minor administrative duties. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise maintenance personnel to align business objectives with customer demands, striving for operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage scheduling for preventative maintenance, prioritizing quality service and customer satisfaction. • Address and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products, or personnel. • Recruit, train, and evaluate maintenance personnel to ensure alignment with company objectives. • Collaborate with company officials to develop strategies for sales growth and market expansion. • Supervise associates involved in sales, inventory management, and service provision. • Provide guidance and assistance to staff in handling complex duties effectively. • Plan work schedules, assign tasks, and oversee day-to-day operations. • Coordinate with other departments, attend meetings, and exchange information to ensure smooth operations. • Prepare sales and inventory reports for management and budget departments. • Formulate pricing policies to meet profitability requirements. • Undertake additional projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications and Experience: • Minimum of 3 years of experience in diesel shop maintenance. • At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role. • Associates Degree (business or technical) or Vo-Tech Graduate. • Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle components including engine, drive train, air-brakes, etc. • Required certifications: brake/air brake, diesel, EPA 608/609, and HVAC. • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint. • Strong written/oral communication and people management skills.
