Job description: DESCRIPTION The Amazon Aviation Security team is looking for an enthusiastic, customer obsessed Aviation Security executive to join the team as the Sr. Manager, Aviation Security, and Credentialing. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the Amazon AIR credentialing system. In the US this requires full compliance with all 49 CFR 1542 and 1544 requirements at regulated and unregulated airports. Outside the US this requires evaluation of host government credentialing standards and developing Amazon policies and procedures to mitigate any gaps between those and US standards. The successful candidate will develop and provide the Amazon Air team and business partners with necessary tools, resources, and training to build and maintain the security culture. This position will require strong communication and partnership with Senior Leaders, managers, peers and team members, both within Amazon Air and with its contract airline and ground handling vendors, federal regulatory agencies, airport security teams as well as with other business partners, to drive effective solutions and mitigate any risks to the operation. Key job responsibilities • Engage and influence regulators to recognize and accept Amazon's credentialing program goals. • Develop policies, procedures, training and quality assurance of credentialing to ensure that Amazon remains fully compliant with regulations at all times and result in a world class program. • Lead continuous improvement efforts for the credentialing to meet the needs of internal customers. • Responsible for development of technology to support credentialing, using best in class applications. • Utilize the Security Management System principles (SeMS) to track all findings and corrective actions and build comprehensive security plans to mitigate risk and cultivate the security culture including leading and lagging indicators, goal setting and KPI for AvSec operational teams. • Develop reporting standards and automatic mechanisms for reporting the health of credentialing business to all business stakeholders. • Develop a team of results oriented professionals that execute the credentialing plan to high standards. • Leverage best practices and experience to protect the Amazon brand. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree. • 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in Aviation Security, specifically, ICAO, IATA, IOSA, US and foreign regulatory programs • Experience running credentialing at a major (Cat X) airport including responsibility for development and execution of the program and security outcomes. • Experience managing multiple direct reports. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience as an airport executive • Experience in leading airport operations outside the security department • Experience in working with Insider Threat Teams and Programs • Master's degree. • Lean Six Sigma or Project Management Professional certifications • Demonstrated ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy. • Excellent verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with Senior Leaders. • Strong writing skills; will be required to write analytical reviews for critical business decisions. • Strong background of working with local, federal regulators and influencing aviation security authorities and associations toward conclusions that benefit previous employers. • Demonstrated leadership of airline and airport operations, and security requirements • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
