Responsibilities Speech Language Pathologist (SLPA... Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty Apply knowledge in speech therapy to detect speech problems by having a patient complete basic reading and vocalizing tasks Identify speech therapy options, and create / carry out an individualized treatment plan Teach speech patients how to make sounds and improve their voice Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability Work with speech patients to improve their ability to read and write correctly Work with speech patients to develop and strengthen the muscles used to swallow Counsel speech patients with families on how to cope with communication disorders Qualifications Speech Language Pathologist (SLP): Must be willing to work with both In- Clinic & In-Home clients.
