The scope of work encompasses transcribing depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings, requiring a keen attention to detail, familiarity with legal terminology, and excellent grammar. You will process audio recordings while strictly adhering to style guides to produce verbatim transcripts. As an independent contractor for VIQ Solutions, you can establish your own schedule and receive support from our in-office team as required. Our work is available 24/7/365 to accommodate any schedule, and candidates with weekend availability are particularly encouraged to apply. Skills Requirements • Experience with court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription required. • Excellent listening skills. • Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides. • Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar. • Ability to collaborate remotely. • Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy. • Capacity to process extreme audio/text content (may be offensive). • Ability to pass a background check. • Familiarity with legal terminology. • Court reporting students will also be considered. • Note: This opportunity is not available to residents of Massachusetts or California.
