Summary: A Lead in Data Science and Operations Research (DSOR) Enablement is a mid-level role responsible for supporting the integration of advanced analytics and operations research methodologies across the organization, contributing to the optimization of business processes and decision-making. They work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and assist in implementing data-driven solutions that align with organizational goals. With a solid understanding of both business operations and technical methodologies, they provide guidance, mentorship, and technical advice, helping DSOR practitioners deliver valuable insights and solutions. They contribute to influencing leadership through effective communication, ensuring that DSOR initiatives deliver meaningful, value-driven outcomes. This role requires familiarity with data science, operations research, business acumen and operational domain knowledge to foster innovation and continuous improvement across the enterprise while staying informed on the latest advancements and supporting the organization's strategy to leverage these capabilities effectively. Job Description Support the development and implementation of the DSOR Enablement function, contributing to its strategic vision. Inspire and guide DSOR initiatives, promoting innovative, data-driven solutions that enhance business processes and support growth. Provide guidance and set priorities for DSOR projects, ensuring effective execution from hypothesis to deliverable. Mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and continuous improvement. Assist in the design of user-centric products that align with business goals, enhancing decision-making and user engagement. Communicate DSOR concepts clearly to stakeholders, supporting leadership and ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives. Track project progress and support accountability for project milestones, contributing to impactful solutions that maximize the value of DSOR initiatives. Contribute to the development and dissemination of best practices for the DSOR discipline, advancing its culture within the organization. Skills / Abilities Leadership and mentorship abilities with experience in team management. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage a diverse portfolio of projects. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with data science and operations research tools and methodologies. Influential leadership skills to help drive strategy and motivate action. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences. Effective decision-making skills; ability to support and defend project decisions. Strong facilitation skills, capable of guiding group discussions and consolidating feedback. Good understanding of Agile, scrum, or other types of software development methodologies. Basic familiarity with program and/or product management disciplines. Basic familiarity with Business Architecture or Enterprise Architecture disciplines Domicile Information: This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need. Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelors degree or equivalent in Data Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Business Administration, Business Analytics, or related discipline. [Advanced degree preferred.] MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Five to seven (5 - 7) years of experience in working with teams in analytics, data science, operations research, engineering or a related field, with demonstrated leadership in managing teams and executing complex projects. Practitioner or practitioner-adjacent experience in analytics, data science, operations research, or a related fields inclusive of prototyping and rapid experimentation.
