Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our team and spearhead our company’s development of new client services; Utility Predominant Use Studies, ASHRAE Energy Efficiency Audits, and Energy Treasure Hunts. As a Senior Engineer specializing in Building Energy Efficiency, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies to optimize energy consumption in large commercial and industrial facilities. Leveraging your expertise, you will assess, design, and oversee the implementation of energy efficiency solutions, ensuring maximum efficiency and cost savings for our clients. The ideal candidate will work closely with team members to ensure end-to-end management and coordination of facility assessments, client data acquisition, scheduling, report preparation, and presentation of assessment results to clients. In between projects the ideal candidate will work with our Energy Analyst and Software Development Teams to advance analytical capabilities in the areas of BMS data acquisition/integration, energy efficiency identification, anomaly/fault detection, and Measurement and Verification (M&V). Key Responsibilities: • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop a comprehensive strategy for the building energy efficiency engineering practice, aligning with company goals and industry best practices. • Technical Assessment: Conduct ASHRAE Level 1 and 2 building audits to assess existing facilities, identifying energy-saving opportunities and areas for improvement. Perform predominant use tax studies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. • Solution Design: Develop innovative and customized solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client, incorporating ASHRAE standards and state-of-the-art technologies. • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant regulations and standards pertaining to energy efficiency, predominant use tax studies, and sustainability, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry guidelines. • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine engineering processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and the quality of client deliverables. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred. • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. • Minimum of 7 years of experience in building energy efficiency engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery. • Experience working in Manufacturing environments identifying efficiencies / process optimization improvements • In-depth knowledge of building systems, HVAC, lighting, controls, and energy management systems. • Experience conducting ASHRAE Level 1 and 2 building audits and predominant use tax studies. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders. • Passion for sustainability and commitment to driving positive environmental impact through energy efficiency initiatives.
